Mom, what are good gifts for new neighbors
I use to make our new neighbors cookies or bread to welcome them to the neighborhood. At Christmas we'd make sugar cookies and pass them out. We did that for a few years and then stopped...I think the year we lost Matthew.
A tradition in our family is to take the new neighbors a new plant, whether it be a small petunia in a pot or a plum tree. I'm known for taking my neighbors a rose bush lol. Also, I'm sorry for your loss.
Hmm those are good gift ideas. I tend to avoid getting too friendly with neighbours due to past bad experiences so I don't give out gifts to them. But I think it would be nice to give everyone in your neighbourhood a little merry christmas card or something like that once a year.
I would give bags of homemade caramelcorn, and if they have kids or pets, I would leave my card with my info on it. I babysit and petsit all the time. I usually don't charge for the first time I babysit or petsit. It helps people feel welcome :)
PEACE AND QUIET!!! HAHAHAHA
Wow I wish that I were your new neighbor, sugar cookies, and bread, two of my favorite carbs, nowadays in some areas that is rare form or maybe even seen as suspicious, you are Awesome! Keep walking in love........
Since I just became a new neighbor myself, I would've appreciated something real practical like a Welcome card and a warm greeting "If you need help finding things around town...if you'd like a tour around town to get familiar with the area, let me know" kind of a schpeal.
