If a mom to be asked me for advice...

So if a mom to be asked me for my best advice for new moms I would tell them the following:
*Everyone is going to give you advice. Which is fine and can help, but in the end go with what feels right for you and your baby. Every baby is different and you will know in your heart what's right for your child.

*When your baby is crying and won't stop the key is the calmer you are, the calmer they will be. If you have to put the baby down, leave the room for a moment to take a deep breath and calm down and then go back in then do it.

*Come to moms.com and chat with other mothers about your baby! It's great to have other mommy's to talk to.

*If your baby cries check the basics - are they hungry? wet? sleepy? bored? the vast majority of the time it will be for one of these reasons

*Cherish every moment you have with them. They grow too fast.

*Don't buy a heap of newborn stuff. They grow out of the diapers and clothes way too fast. You won't get enough use out of it to make it worth while.

That's all I can think of for now. Feel free to add to my list!

I agree! I would also add:
Invest in a swing or a bouncer...they come in handy for little ones.
