Natural child birth

I would be interested in reading about your natural child birth experience(s) like water birth, etc. or a re-telling of someone else's. Eire-Mahal could be my only child, and I want to get the most out of our birthing experience and make it as holistic and natural as possible. I've been cautioned by friends who have children to at least get the epidural as I'll be screaming for it when it's time to push.

I strongly suggest you take a childbirth class, they will teach you about all of your options. They will also teach you natural coping techniques to handle the pain.

Do you have a doctor or midwife? Talk to them about your questions and concerns.

I strongly suggest hiring a doula or at least interviewing one and seeing what they can do for you.

I had three natural births and I have attended many more as a doula. A natural birth can be a very rewarding experience. In the end you need to chose and do what is best for you.
There are other pain med options besides the epidural, I had my daughter at the hospital because I was nervous but wanted to have her naturally. Next time I'm gonna try a water birth. Also little tip my doc told me was don't scream, low growl or grunts help when you push.
