Do I really need to have a 3 weeks pregnancy ultrasound?

At three weeks your doctor wont be able to see your pregnancy on an ultrasound. At three weeks the fertilized egg just implanted into the lining of the uterus. The sac will just be starting to form and amniotic fluid will just be starting to accumulate. The embryo, sac and fluid will be too tiny to be seen by your doctor.

Ultrasounds are not commonly done during the third week of your pregnancy.

Moms Expertise
I thought the first ultrasound was simply to confirm pregnancy. I had one early on, but more like seven or eight weeks. I do agree that three weeks is probably too early.
I had one at 7 weeks but that was because I didn't know how far along I was.
