The most important advice about marriage...
Let's imagine our kids are all older and about to get married. They ask you for advice on how to make a marriage work. What would be the best advice you could give them?
I like the advice that Doc Martin receives on his (first) wedding day (any fans?)--it's not whether the other person makes you happy, but can you make the other person happy? I like the selflessness in that question.
I heard something one time that really stuck with me. It's normal to fall out of love in a marriage at some point. It won't always be fun, in fact it will be hard sometimes. But just remember why you loved the person to begin with.
Selflessness and communication!!! Honestly and loyalty are my two major deal breakers.
