My Boy Can Eat!

Next week, Jonah will be able to start rice cereal (pediatrician's approval). Lately, he has been taking 5 oz. Well, tonight, he had his 5 oz bottle and cried when he sucked all the milk. He would not stop. He wanted more! So, I made him another ounce. He is now satisfied. I cannot wait until he can have his rice cereal because he will feel fuller. Milk is not filling this boy up. Lol

Yes, he does. And, yes, he is. He is not overweight, but he is taller than many babies his age. He was born short but has hit many growth spurts since birth. I have tall men on my side of the family, well over 6 feet. My hubby is almost 6'3" and can eat as well, though he is a string bean. Lol Jonah looks like he is closing in on 24 inches.

What? Really? That is not comforting.
I know my mother gave us all cereal so I am not sure about this. My son's doctor told me to start him on it.

Thank you. :) I just want whatever is best for my son, so I am going to look. If there are negative results, than I will stop the cereal.

I have heard about the arsenic issue.. it can also be a leading cause of obesity, diabetes... white flour is very tough on our systems. Y'know how we feel really full when we eat rice, but then get really hungry a short time later? That's about what's going on. I know that some pediatricians will recommend it in the bottle for reflux, but if that's not what's going on I wouldn't risk it. AAP recommends sticking with bm or formula until 6 months. Then sweet potatoes, bananas and avocados are the safest and most nutritious foods to start with.

Yes, the rice cereal was stopping him from spitting up, but just hearing, "arsenic" does not make me want to give him anymore. I will ask him about the other cereals. Thank you for sharing, and for recommending that website. It will be bookmarked. :)
