Poor baby boy...

He didn't eat much yesterday. He requested Cheerios with sugar and no milk. I put very little sugar in and he ate only the sugar then requested more. I said no, if you don't eat what I give you, you will have to go hungry. He fussed for a while then went about playing. He ate his sandwich in a hurry at lunch time (our fridge is bare right now, but will have fruit for snacks soon).
It was really nice out today, so I let them play after nap time (2pm). They weren't completely unsupervised, but I wasn't watching them very closely. About an hour before dinner, he started complaining about a tummy ache. I thought it was just because he was hungry, like his sister (she was sitting at the table, complaining, "Dinner!"), but then I felt him, just grabbed his hand and immediately knew he had a fever, he was HOT, HOT, HOT! I grab the thermometer and sure enough, 102.
I offered him dinner, but he didn't want pizza but mama's special cereal. Because he was sick and hadn't eaten much, I made him some. He had two bites before throwing up. Afterwards he still only took a couple more bites. He wouldn't drink his water, but when I jokingly asked if he wanted some of my Pepsi, he nodded. Not a chance.
I gave him Tylenol and a bath and he perked up, running around and playing, and he asked for some pizza! I fed him, checked him temp again before bed, a non concerning 99, and put him to bed.

Fast forward to now, 2am, and I hear him crying for me. I knew the fever was probably back and he probably threw up, so I jumped up and felt him. No puke and grabbed the thermometer, 102 again. Another cool bath and back down to 99. He's happy, watching Daniel Tiger on Netflix and drinking watered down apple juice. Also gave him Ibuprofen because it had been longer than 4 hours, and I'm almost out of Tylenol. I'm now up and keeping an eye on him, even as I type this. Just chilling watching Netflix. Still in good spirits. (I did some research, as long as it stays under 103 and he's happy, I can keep him home) As soon as he's complain-y and fever comes back, I'm heading to the ER! I'm worried he ate something he shouldn't have, or cut himself on something his sister didn't play with, because she's fine. She had a slight fever after playing outside, but it was about 80 today and she was running around, so that was probably why.

He woke up at 730 with a low 99 fever. I made some more of my "special cereal," but he still won't eat it. I'll have to take him to Wal-mart soon because I'm out of Tylenol. But maybe I can keep his fluids up by giving him severely watered down apple juice. I don't want the juice to cause him to have diarrhea and make him even more likely to get dehydrated.

He's been down to 99 all day and happy. Even played outside and his appetite came back a little. But he's still a little lazy. He didn't play outside nearly as long as I thought he would, he actually asked me if we could go inside.

Finally got a job. Jack in the Box. Not much, but it's something. I'm divorced but in a new, better relationship and he's my new son's father. I'm very happy to have him in my life (my ex is a free loader, currently living out of his car).
