Daily or weekly weight loss group?

I've been kicking an idea around in my head and thought it would be good to get some input.

Losing weight doesn't require a group or support network, but isn't it more fun with one? I want to get in shape, not really lose a ton but just feel better physically. Realistically I could lose a good 30 pounds, but that's not a big deal to me. I just want to be healthy, if that makes sense. But dang if eating healthy and exercise isn't boring as heck sometimes!

How would you guys feel about a daily or weekly fitness thread? I was thinking we could have a poster feature what they did that day, or like to do in general as far as fitness goes and also share our own daily or weekly strides towards fitness.

Anyone game? And I would LOVE input if you are interested, like things to feature and how often to do the post (daily, every other day, weekly).

I wouldn't mind something like this. I am a big lady, and I don't try to lose weight exactly, but I am trying to live healthier and curb the bad habits in my diet, so I think I understand where you are coming from. I think as long as it stays positive and accepting (as most things on Moms.com are), we'll be in good shape. I have no preference on frequency, though. :)

What a great idea Melissa!! I'm sure lots of Moms will be interested - it's always more fun to work on eating better and getting enough exercise when you have others that can cheer you on!

I would love something like that. It's so much easier when you have others working on getting fit with you.

I just wrote a long reply that didn't post. Lol. So now I will summarize. I gained a lot of weight recently due to health and medications. I need doctors permission for the physical stuff, but eating better is a start. My kid eats great. She'd rather have cherry tomatoes and salad than chocolate. (She's weird. I'll eat the chocolate)

I am strictly gluten free. So if anyone needs advice on how to maintain that diet, I'm your gal. And I also loooooove to be creative with how food looks and tastes for kids.

Hopefully this will post. And like I said, bare with me. I'm not online a lot. But I really like this site and I really like you women!!!

I just wanted to add that a site I've been using to track my diet and exercise is myfitnesspal.com. It's a free calorie counter with a huge database of food, which I appreciate. Does anyone else use anything like that?
