So...Charlie's baptism is in 2 weeks. I went so crazy looking for an outfit for him. I mean really crazy. Like "I can't sleep" crazy. Like... "I need to make an extra payment on my credit card this month because I'm actually considering buying that $100 outfit for him" crazy. The bf's dad brought over a box of stuff from when he was a kid a couple months ago. I found his baptism outfit and really wanted Charlie to wear it to his own, but it was huge. There was NO WAY Charlie was going to be able to fit into it.
When a friend of mine reminded me that Jesus was baptized in a loin cloth, I backed off and realized how silly I was being and went for a super cute cable knit one piece romper with a matching hat that I had planned on hand-embroidering a few crosses on. I was set. I made up my mind. YAY!
Today when mom was over for a visit I took the bf's old stuff out of the closet to show it to her and wouldn't ya know it? It sure looked smaller than it did. Could it be? OH MY GOD.. it fit him. LOL like perfectly! Like it was made for him!
Haha.. so I'm happy. Happy that it fit. Happy that he gets to wear what his daddy wore to his own baptism. Happy that I only spent $30 on the other outfit.
Did your child wear something handed down to an important event?
