Is it ok to put baby orajel on 6 month old baby's gum

I would not put orajel on a baby. Last year the FDA came out with a warning against orajel and other numbing gels. In some babies the numbing gels numbed their tongue and then their tongue slide back blocking their airway while they were sleeping. The main ingredient in the numbing gels can also cause a rare blood disorder in a very small percentage of babies too.

I use Hyland's Teething tablets and an amber teething necklace to help with teething pain.
