How to get baby to sleep if teething

I try to tire my daughter out, she does get fussy when it's nearing bed time. She'll stay up for at least 4 hours after her last nap until its bedtime and once she's starting to get sleepy I lay her down in her crib. I haven't given her anything for teething except teething toys and a clean finger or cloth to relieve pain naturally. I have a lot of patience with her and let her tell me when she's ready for bed (by body language).
Rubbing the gums with topical pain relief gel is also an option, but you may want to ask your baby's doctor before trying it. If you use too much, it can numb the back of your baby's throat and weaken their gag reflex (which helps prevent them from choking on their saliva). The gels are generally safe to use, but in rare cases can cause an allergic reaction.

I appreciate your warning regarding topical gels. I've always been afraid to use them for that reason.

Does Selena have any teeth yet? My daughter teethed for MONTHS before the first one popped. :)

A little but it's kinda sharp and my breast are getting bit a little when she dozes off or turns to look at something like daddy when he starts talking. It's okay though I know she is getting use to it and i'm nervous about putting any gel on it!

I think much of the pain subsides once the tooth erupts, so you're probably right that she's just getting used to it. And biting, Lindsay, I hear you. I hope you have nipple cream for yourself--I found it very helpful!

I do have lanolin cream, I know Selena is feeling better since yesterday though, she's even tooken her naps regularly too. I will try to catch a picture of her cute little tooth.

Very good advice. Sounds very similar to what we did.
