How do you know?

So I was chatting with a new gal I trained for some work today... (she has a 4 month old sweet boy..) about how Mommas KNOW what to do, how much to feed, when the baby needs to do this or that.. she sweetly told me her pediatrician helps a ton.. almost like a coach.. they help you through it.. what this month should look like.. what they could be doing, etc..

Is this true? I am so paranoid at how Mommas just KNOW some stuff like how much to feed, when to increase, when do you do tummy time?

Are you all superheroes with powers that you just KNOW!? :)

I really do think it comes naturally, even if it feels new or awkward at first. No amount of book reading can make you be a good mother. Books are great for knowledge, for reference, but not so much for teaching nurturing, that has to be practiced. I am a reader and found if I read too much I tried to parent or mother like the book/author said and that was completely unnatural....I had to find my style amidst all the book learning. You will too. Every mother does.

Our nurse practitioner was great for developmental questions, breastfeeding questions, is this normal questions and health related questions. I didn't really ask her parenting questions. I referred those questions to friends I felt were doing a good job with their children.

Meg, you are a superhero in disguise and we all know it. Your super mama powers will unleash during deliver and you will join the secret club of super mamas out there, including on this site. At least that's how I picture it.

Lol, I've not been getting much sleep...
