9 month baby food recipes

1.
1 tbsp Silken Tofu, mashed
1 tbsp Kumara (orange sweet potato), mashed
1 tbsp Carrot, mashed
1 tbsp Zucchini, pureed
2 tsp Rice Flour

Combine ingredients in a small bowl, then shape into 2 patties.
Heat a lightly oiled, non-stick frying pan and cook patties for about 3 minutes on each side or until heated through and browned lightly.

2.
1/4 cup Coles Brand Porterhouse beef, finely diced
1/4 cup Mixed Stir-fried Vegetables (from family recipe)
3/4 cup Vegetable Stock (unsalted)

In a small pot, heat the vegetable stock to almost boiling. Add the beef and cook (about 3 minutes). Drain the stock and beef through a sieve into a bowl.
For younger babies, place beef and cooked vegetables into a blender and puree. Add a little stock to achieve a smooth consistency.
For a thicker puree, you can add mashed potato. If baby is ready for finger food, serve finely diced beef with soft bite-sized portions of vegetables on the side.

3. and my favorite: Vegetarian Lasagna
2 cups peas
100 g baby spinach leaves
10 large mushrooms
1 leek, washed and thinly sliced
1 large eggplant, diced
2 carrots, peeled and chopped
800 g tomatoes, diced or 1 bottle of tomato puree
½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
½ cup tasty cheese, grated
12 sheets lasagne
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat the oven to 190⁰C. Using a steamer, cook the peas, spinach and carrot until tender and set aside.
Add oil to frying pan and cook the mushrooms, leek, and eggplant. Cook gently until brown.
Using a medium-sized baking dish, spoon in 2-3 tablespoons of the diced tomatoes (keep ½ cup of tomatoes for the topping) then place 2-3 sheets of lasagne on top of tomato to line the base. Spread a further 2-3 tablespoons of tomatoes on top of the pasta sheets; spread half of the vegetables evenly over the tomatoes and sprinkle cheese on top.
Repeat layering the lasagne sheets, tomato, vegetables and cheese. Then place 2-3 sheets of lasagne on top before pouring over the last of the tomatoes. Sprinkle cheese on top to finish.

For babies: Puree 2 tbsp of the cooked vegetables. For toddlers: Bake some toast soldiers using ciabatta or sourdough bread and top with a small slice of lasagne.

Bake for 1 hour. If the top of the lasagne starts to burn, cover with some tin foil.
