We use all in one cloth-flat folds with covers for newborns because their butts are so tiny. But when I do need to buy disposables (long road trips or rash) I try to get Huggies. The HyVee brand works just as well though.

Cost. We couldn't fit $40 of JUST diapers in the budget every month. It's a lot up front, but we spent $150 four years ago and still going on mostly the same diapers-had to buy some flat folds because the clothes dryer makes them wear out faster than a clothes line.
It's a lot easier if you have soft water, I'm finding. Not as much build up stays in the cloth. I want a clothes line so bad! The sun helps so much.
