She may freak out, but she will also take cues from you and your ability to handle it.. If you find someone and act excited and confident and quick say your goodbye.. she will trust that and may still cry but will get used to it.. Smile big, fast kiss and out the door.. However.. I would always if you can.. have the sitter come over for 30 minutes here and there .. even just once while you're there.. so your baby can see your comfort with the sitter.. good luck.. :)

Do you have family or a close friend that you could try leaving her with once? I know the first time I left my kids it was MUCH harder on me than it was on them. Giving yourself a chance to transition to the idea of leaving her will make it easier for you to handle leaving her with a babysitter much more calmly and confidently which will make it easier on her as well.

Avery has never done well with babysitters. We don't use one often, which doesn't help because she never really gets used to it. I think the important thing to remember is just because they're freaking out doesn't mean something is wrong. Sometimes they have to let their emotions out in order to process a new situation.

If you can find someone you trust, try having them come over and hang out casually a few times. Try to do it as frequently as you can and when she seems used to them start leaving the room for a few minutes at a time. If she can stay calm for at least 10-15min then try going out for an hour or so.
