Baby side to side head shaking like saying no: something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. A baby might shake their head side to side for a variety of reasons.

A newborn might shake their head side to side because they are trying to find a nipple to suck on, this is called the rooting reflex.

A baby might shake their head from side to side when they are tired because they are trying to stay awake.

A baby might shake their head from side to side because they saw someone else do it and they are mimicking them or they might do it because they learned something new they could do with their body.

Hayden does it because she thinks it's funny. She sees us or her big brother or sister shake our heads no, and then she shakes her head as fast as she possibly can and giggles and smirks at us. Nothing's wrong - she's just trying to be grown up!

I agree, though I don't remember any of my newborns really doing something like this. Older babies yes.
