What happens if babies are born at 35 weeks?

My first baby was born at 35 weeks. We was pretty healthy, able to eat, breath, and maintain his body temperature all on his own. He had to spend 7 days in the NICU for jaundice but other than that he was healthy.

Some babies born at 35 weeks have problems breathing, eating and maintaining their body temperature and have to spend time in the NICU. Other are healthy like mine and do not needs assistance. 35 week babies very rarely have any long term health issues to deal with from their prematurity.

Moms Expertise
I have a few friends that had 35 weekers. One had her baby discharged with her - no time in the NICU, the other had a week or so in the NICU. It all depends on the baby, but in general any stay in the NICU will be short.
This is good to know... my first was born a month early and suffered no complications except jaundice!
