Baby food squash recipe

Cooking acorn or butternut squash,
Baked halved, you cut the squash in half lengthwise, remove all seeds and fibrous material. Bake at 350 degrees for around 30-40 minutes, until tender. Steamed. Cut into cubes and then steam for around 8 to 10 minutes until tender.
Boiled. Cut into cubes, just cover with water, then simmer gently unti cooked (8-10 mins). Add the cooking water back into your recipe to make use of the nutrients that may have leached into it during the cooking time.
Once it's cooled down, or place in cold water then drain to stop cooking process. Cut into small chunks.
Then puree with a mill or blender and add water or breastmilk to thin it out.
Older babies around 8 months and up try mixing squash with other vegetables or fruit, and try spices such as cinnamon but no salt and pepper or sugar.
I have mixed it with sweet potatoes and peas, it's also good to mix with pears and apples.

We have done this, except I really didn't mix other fruit with it unless a baby wasn't taking to it right away.

    I love butternut squash!
Selena spits out apples but likes it mixed with acorn squash.
      This is a great recipe!
