How do you treat newborns dry skin

Many newborns will have dry and peeling skin. It is very normal since they just went from being completely submerged in liquid to being out in the air. It is best to just leave their skin alone and let it adjust to life outside of the womb on it's own. If you are really worried you can try some lotion but often that can make it worse. Lotion is just another new thing to adjust to and it is full of chemicals. In a week or two their skin will be adjusted and look fine.

Coconut oil is a great alternative to lotion if you want to treat it.
I always used some lotion ... but my babies never had overly dry skin...
