"Dad"

Well ladies, Lucas totally and completely said 'dad' today. Loud and clear. Did he mean it? Make the association to David? I have no idea. He saw David come out of the bathroom when he said it. It was as clear as day. Does this count as the first word? I mean older kids say words all the time that they don't know the meaning of. Hmmm any thoughts? If this counts then his first word was 'dad' and not 'mama' :( Still happy for him though. :)

Sounds like a first word to me. :) Don't feel bad, my youngest first said dada, and my oldest first said kiki.

James will say "uh" then "oh" right afterwards :)

I am hoping my son says, "Mama."

When I was helping raise my youngest nephew at my mother's, he looked at me and said, "Dada." I could not make him stop--he would say it up town, too. Lol
He continued to call me that--I believe he thought I was his parent, especially the way he acted towards me (he always wanted me, cried when I went to work, and when I returned, he would get excited and love on me). I miss him (I wish I could have kept him and his older sister).
