1 year old with Fever and Shaking what to do
I would first take the temp, find out how high it is and give motrin or tylenol and call the doctor. If the fever is high you may need to take them to doctor or urgent care. Also make sure they are getting plenty of fluids and staying hydrated.
Depending on how high, you want to lower it pretty quickly but not shock them... cool washcloth, NOT cold.. and place on their head and neck and armpits and feet.. chilled water or ice or popsicles.. motrin, tylenol.. and if it's high, call your Doctor fast.. However.. a high fever is sometimes okay for a child.. My son had a 104 one night and I flipped out but the doctor was not concerned..
