Discontinued Seat?

I have a hand-me-down convertible Britax seat that I have been using for my 2 year old, I was considering trading it or selling it so I could get something less bulky. But upon researching the seat, I found that it is discontinued, *Stupid Question* Does this mean it's recalled, or does it just mean the company no longer makes them? I have looked to see if it's been recalled and haven't found anything on it, but what are your opinions?

-Not on the recall list, and it was manufactured 2/23/09

I haven't found anything on recalls, just new patterns, no accident reports. I'm guessing its just that they no longer provide the pattern.

Toys R Us has a complete list online of recalled items. That might help you out. My opinion is that i would replace it with a new one. I took a car seat class and they told us that if the car seat was discontinued to replace it. That also means there have been new safety items added to the item in question on the newer models. The newer ones are the safest ones usually. I worked at Toys R Us and was also trained in this area too. To be on the safe side, i would replace it.

It was a hand-me down from my mom, my sister only used a few times before she got a new one that she fit in better. I wouldn't have taken anything that I thought wasn't safe.
