Babies cry to express a need. It's not to annoy or manipulate. Now I can't personally help with colic, so far, my little ones have not dealt with it. But, I have to believe that crying in their parent's arms is safer and more reassuring than crying/stressing alone. I personally prefer a shoulder to cry on, to know that I matter even when I'm being disagreeable or having a bad time.
