Finger painting!

This is still to this day one of my favorite things to do with the kiddos. For preschoolers and younger school aged children they will probably get paint everywhere if you don't direct the activity and limit the amount they can use. Just a glob about quarter sized is great to start with and add a little more over time if they need it.

I would also suggest using non toxic paints. Preschoolers are known for eating things they shouldn't.

I haven't tried finger painting yet...I'm not sure if Maddie would like it. She's pretty good at wiping her fingers on her shirt when she touches things that are sticky. Maybe I should put her in a plain white shirt and make her the artwork, lol.

We haven't finger painted in a long time. My older girls may have done it with the little ones. It's sad that I don't even know that. I do know they've painted with the younger ones.

Finger painting is great! have you tried shaving cream fun yet? you can do this on the table and simply wipe it off... we have also mixed shaving cream with glue and found that it adheres and stays nicely on construction paper and makes wonderful abstract child art!
