Constipated newborn baby
I breastfed my babies and really didn't have any constipation issues. Their poos changed once they started solids.
Most experts seem to recommend water, fruit juice like prune and some moms here on Moms.com swear by apple and pear juice.
We didn't have any problem either until we started switching Mason to formula. He got terribly constipated while we were switching over and it was so hard to watch!!
I haven't had any constipation problems with Selena yet, but i've read that natural pear juice and pumping their legs helps.
Apple juice seemed to work well for mine as they got older. Not sure why it did, but I wasn't going to ask questions!
I would give my son an ounce or two of warm water with a little bit of sugar. Or gripe water helps a lot!
Our doctor told us after four weeks, one ounce pear juice to four ounces of water.
