OTC remedies may help

When my daughter was born, we decided to breastfeed, and I didn't want to put anything else in her body except breast milk. If I ever have another baby, I will make exceptions for gripe water and simethicone. The way they have helped my daughter once I actually decided to give them to her was night and day. For one, gripe water stops hiccups on the spot. It's amazing--I'll even take a swig when I have hiccups, and they stop immediately. Simethicone, on the other hand, is an OTC medication that specifically treats gas. I didn't have many issues with Madeleine being overly gassy, but if I did, I now know that it is gentle when administered correctly, and I would try it.
