I have never had en epidural but I have heard that it numbs you so you can't really feel too much. I always have thought the pushing part was the easiest, I've always felt an urge to push and that always helped me direct my pushing. The contractions during the final part of the first stage were always the worst part of the contractions for me.

I didn't have a successful epidural so I am not a good one to ask because I'll say yes I felt every contraction because it didn't take. The pushing part was hard work but a relief to me because I knew the end was near. The contractions was hard waiting through because I didn't know how long or when until I hit transition. Good luck!

It didn't hurt, I just felt the pressure. But i only took the one initial dose and wouldn't push the button to get more.

Your still gonna feel it but wont hurt as bad. I think the contractions hurt more towards the part where I was ready to push but everyone is different.
