Celebrity Family Budget!

I found a great article on The ever present LARGE family in the media... The Duggar's. This is a great article discussing how Michelle Duggar has a 3,000 a month budget to feed her family. Roughly for a smaller family of four this comes out to 600.00 a month. I have a family of five so the budget would be slightly higher.

i liked the article because it talked about budgeting on a larger scale and gives you a comparative look for a smaller family! i think the budget is pretty reasonable and not too far fetched!

well here is the question ... could I do it? Why yes I could ... in fact we already do it now! Could you live on such a budgeted amount?

Here is a link to the article for reference!

The cost of food is outrageous! I prefer fresh produce, but that can be expensive. I try to avoid canned and frozen items, which are always on sale.

We spend less than that as well. My mom was helping raise a niece and nephew of mine. I was there with an older sister, not their mother. We lived on less than 600.00 a month for a family of five. Plus, one was an infant so formula and baby food was mixed into the cost, though most was homemade.

$3000.00 a month? Seriously? Maybe for a family that large, but we make less than that (we make less than half of that. Lol). We live on a smaller budget for our family size. I use coupons, buy in bulk, and buy what is on sale. We come out cheaper this way. I am very frugal, too.

Right now there is 7 of us. One is a breastfeeding infant but there are also 3 teenagers. I spend $100 - $150 a week on for food. I know this will go up a little in the summer but I have found that buying in bulk will sometimes cost you more than watching sales and using coupons. Also buying weekly helps buy fresh produce at a better price because I can shop around more.

Well ... we spend under the 600 a month so I think we are on track... kudos to you that are doing way less than that!
