Potty Training Rant

I'm attempting (I say attempting because my daughter is driving me crazy) to potty train my 2 1/2 year old... She holds it! She will hold it and hold it and hold it some days.. Diaper goes on for nap time and it's soaked within half an hour and wakes her up. When she does realize she's going she takes her sweet time getting upstairs to the bathroom and I can't pick her up and carry her because it seems she only needs to potty when the baby is nursing. I know she knows she goes because she tells me..
My four year old son is peeing everywhere again. I am so sick of cleaning up pee! Out of shag carpet even! He peed on the couch during nap time yesterday so now I have a cushion to scrub.
I'm so sick of pee...

We've done that twice now.. She is at the point where the cloth diapers we use are getting too small and leaving marks. :(

I'm trying not to push her and let her figure it out. She pottied once in the toilet then had an accident on daddy and she was so upset that she wouldn't put underwear on for a week no matter how many times daddy told her it was ok. I've never seen a kid hold pee all day.

He cleans up his own messes. We had the potty seat down stairs last week and she completely ignored it. I don't remember my first girl being this hard to potty train.

I have some comfort in knowing my nephews weren't potty trained at night until 9, they just don't wake up. It's more the day that frustrate me..and the smell in the carpet..

I would LOVE to pull the carpet up and refinish the hardwood floors underneath..would make cleaning up so much easier. But my husband protests. Andrew soak up his messes with a towel then I usually have to go back and scrub.

lol. He can't get down on the floor-bad back. But he gets an earful and gets to see the water from the shampooer every time I shampoo.
