Breast Milk Leaking

I have one that flows like a river. I kid you not. I will flow like a river for six months before it evens out and doesn't leak that much. She is three months tomorrow (NO!!!!!) and it is slowing down a little so by this afternoon I won't leak but a few dribbles while she eats on the other side. In the first feeding of the morning I go through two hand towels just to keep me from getting soaked and smelling more like milk. I used to use disposable pads all the time, now I just use them when I'm out. I found a pattern for homemade nursing pads that work just as well as the disposables.

With my son I leaked bad enough I went through five disposables in an hour... But I had many booby problems with him. I couldn't use washables because of an open sore. My middle daughter I was gone all the time and didn't want to change clothes every hour thanks to leakage. With these I can leave the house and not have to worry about making sure I have disposables on. I need to make more instead of buying another package of disposables. Just have to figure out my 'new' sewing machine.

Ah man!!! That explains so much! I had mastitis every other month with him and almost nothing with the girls when I used washables more.

Oh yeah.. I used to put towels under my side of the sheet when I was pregnant so I wouldn't ruin the mattress. I would wake up drenched.
