Spouses, Kids, and Videogames

Anyone here have a spouse, or a kid (or a self!) addicted to video games?

How many hours a day do they play? What do they play? Do you have to set aside videogame budget money, lol?

I just got hubs (and... kinda myself when I find the time ;) ) GTA5 as an early birthday gift and he's devouring it.

How much charge do they take in your house?

Yeah, Rock Band is sitting in our garage. :\ It was fun while it lasted though!

The top three in my house right now are GTA, Forza, and Skyrim.

It'll be nice when we get our hands on Assassin's Creed!

Hubs is working on the new GTA as we speak. I got the sticks for a bit last night, but he's had them all day, lol.

As for finding a new game you might enjoy... if you like Alice in Wonderland try the game for Xbox360 called Alice. It's dark, hallucinatory, madness with an awesome storyline. I LOVED it and really hope there will be a sequel. If you like older style games, I think you'd like it, even though it's a new release. It's all pretty straightforward.

I with the download/disc you also get the old version of the game which I found to be not nearly as fun, don't remember what system it initially came out for. Seriously though, look it up.

I LOVE my video games! My daughter likes the singing games mostly and maybe Mario Kart on the Wii. I play Call of Duty Need for Speed on PS3 and Sims3 (pc) and many games on PS2.

We haven't been playing for awhile but now & then we will play together.

We don't buy many games for awhile due to tight budget but, now that redbox has new games to rent I can try them to see if I want to buy it.

I grew up with video games until my dad started to play too much haha.. then he removed it! Damn.

I grew up on them too. :) We don't really play much on our Wii in the house, but the 360 is on practically always whether with a game or Netflix.

Looove some MarioKart and some COD.

I've used the Redbox feature for games a few times, usually to test or on games I can finish within two days. I got DMC from Redbox and finished it (though we bought it later) and something else... Now I can remember. Alien superweapons and such. Finished that one from Redbox so we saved like 56 dollars lol.

My husband is big into Call of Duty and Battlefield. Anything along those lines. He spends as much time on it as possible. He gets so frustrated, that we all know when he is playing. He cusses at the games ALL THE TIME. My children have even started picking up on the language. Its bad in my house.

Lol, I worry about that when kids come around. My husband can sit and play pretty silently but I cuss like a sailor when I'm on Call of Duty lol. Going to have to develop a 'mommy mouth' haha

Good luck. My husband has tried, and still is trying, but nothing beats him trying to explain to my two year old that he can say the bad word but she can't. I was in my room LAUGHING.

True, true. I think we'll be using headsets for that part. I'm the only one who usually plays online anyhow, but that's a good thing to consider! I've heard some pretty wicked stuff on Live.
