I've suffered from headaches my whole life. The earliest one I can remember happened when I was in first grade. I laid on my mom's bed just groaning in pain, afraid to move. My mom wasn't much help and would just tell me to drink some water and get over it. Because of this I didn't really tell people when I got them, I just suffered in silence.
In college I finally told my doctor about them. She said that they weren't just headaches, but sounded like chronic migraines. She prescribed me some special medicine to take as soon as I felt a headache starting. I didn't really believe her. I always thought migraines were way worse then what I was feeling. I could push through the pain. Plus the meds made me really loopy so I avoided taking them as much as possible.
While I was pregnant I seemed to get less headaches then usual. Now they're back with a vengeance and because I'm breastfeeding there aren't many options for medications. Now I'm tracking my symptoms and hoping that I can find a pattern or cause. I just want to go a whole week without pain!
Do you get migraines? Did you figure out what was causing them? How did you do it and are they better now?
Our daughters use essential oils to combat them. They have found Frankincense to work the best, though they will use Peppermint as well.
How is your sleep? I have noticed I get more migraines if I don't get enough sleep. For the past year or so I have been making myself go to bed at a certain time (most of the time, some nights it doesn't happen) and that seems to help. Being tired was a big trigger for me.
