Could my prenatal vitamins make my nausea worse?

Many women find that prenatal vitamins make their nausea worse. Prenatal vitamins are very important so it is best to find a way to continue taking them. Some women find that gummy vitamins or chewable vitamins cause less nausea or stomach upset. Try taking your vitamins at different times of day to see when you have the least amount of symptoms. Make sure you take your vitamins with food as well.

I was taking regular prenatals with the DHA supplements. They had a weird after taste and when I burped (which they made me do a lot of) it tasted like fish... gross. My vitamins definitely made me feel more nauseous. In fact one time I took them at work and gagged so much I threw up a little in my hand trying to cover my mouth. It was horrible. Luckily no one knew and quickly I washed my hands and brushed my teeth in the bathroom. After that I switched to the gummy vitamins and I had no more troubles with that. They are a great alternative. They taste a whole lot better. No swallowing horse pills or weird after taste. And no nausea. They also have them with added DHA for helping with brain development.

Mine always do for the first trimester at least. I added papaya enzyme to my daily pills (or fresh papaya if you can find it) and it helped tons.

When I was pregnant I had horrible nausea for the first couple months and the prenatal vitamins didn't help any. I found that taking them with a small snack before bed helped a lot because I'd sleep it off

You know whats weird and this is like a side note but since we are on the subject of nausea, when I felt really nauseous sometimes the only thing that would help was drinking an ice cold glass of water. I tried all kinds of other things before I discovered that that is what worked for me. Who knew.. but it had to be really cold for it to work. And I recommend sitting down when you are trying anything to calm your stomach. For some reason I feel like standing always made my nausea worse.
