This article says it all.
I totally agree with this. People glaze over all of the struggle and change postpartum women go through. I remember being about 4 weeks postpartum and my mom wanted me to go an a 2hour hike with her. I was like "um, no. my body is recovering from delivering LIFE - i do not have the energy for that". But at the same time I felt like I was letting everyone down because I wanted space and time to adjust. It was miserable at times.
It really is important to be mindful of the fact that a postpartum body needs time to adjust. And that time in your life can be so draining in every single way. As happy as I was with having a new baby I wanted sleep so badly. Every bit I could snatch was like heaven.
