I would really love to find a baby book that doesn't just tell me what is going to go wrong... I worry constantly over stuff that I didn't need to know anything about.
I like "the big book of parenting solutions" by Michele Borba, Ed.D It's more for moms who have kids age 3-13, but I like it very much. It's a comprehensive guide to the world of parenthood.
I like the What to Expect series. They have the pregnancy, first years and toddler years.
I second this book. I found more in depth info in other books, but I really like these in that they tell you most everything you need to know, upfront and concisely.
You might just want to read progression books about bringing the baby home, what they do at this age.. etc.. because otherwise, most do scare you :) I haven't dove into any books really (I am 7 months along) because I know my pregnancy and my baby aren't going to be like any other before... to each their own, you know?
If I recall, "YOU- Having a Baby" was pretty good and not all negative.
