Hand Chewing

My 4 1/2 month old daughter constantly is chewing on her hands. I can't feel anything so I don't think she is teething yet. Is this normal? Does anyone elses babies do this as well? I know they enjoy having things in their mouth but she is constantly choking herself and I can't get her to stop. Feedback, ideas...

Tristen at 16 months still does this. He started doing it when he started teething, although it was a few months before he actually got teeth.

My son and my girls started at 2 months. They start teething long before they get their first tooth. My 18mth old still does it when her gums are sore.

My daughter does too sometimes and she's going to be 3 in like 2-3 weeks. She also chews on her shirt a lot.

          Vince chews on everything.
But my 6year old does too and he chews on his arms, hand, fingers, shirts, socks, shoes. He is worse than my baby

My daughter did that but I just pull her hand out or give her a teething toy. This habit usually doesn't last long.
