What is Motherhood?

In this article the author speaks shares what she thinks Motherhood is and goes on to discuss birth and how it relates to the different stages of motherhood. It's true, but to me Motherhood is so much more. Birth marks the beginning of nurturing and loving a life for 18+ years. It is preparing the next generation to live a responsible adulthood and passing on our family's beliefs and traditions to our children, their children etc.

What is Motherhood to you?

Doing the best that we can to raise and prepare our children for the world to come. And supporting them all the way no matter the choices they make and the problems they may endure. Never giving up on them no matter what. And of course a love you could never experience with any other person.
Ah.. great and interesting article.. I like how she relates birth to repeating in different child raising ways over and over.. I honestly am not sure what Motherhood is to me yet.. it's all so new, all so consuming, I'm trying to figure out my role and how my new life has changed me.. it's a beautiful ride but I think I am still figuring it out :) Or maybe the joke's on me.. maybe Moms are always just figuring it out hehe

I think we are to a degree Megbecause every child is different and every stage of childhood is different for each child. What works for one doesn't always work for another.
Motherhood to me is being the best person I can be for my children. To show them that it's ok to be different and that life has many roads and many bumps. But as long as you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
