I have a 9 month old son that is starting to get into everything. I got those things that plug into empty outlets and have added drawer pulls but what am I forgetting?
We are working on this now and here a few other things: bolt furniture to the wall, anchor tv, and cover any exposed cords. We have removed some items from our main living area where she could play unattended. We just watch what she tries to do and see if we need to address or after some time, if distracting her will not make her interested in the item. We are going to wait awhile before we leave her unattended.
Yes yes yes! My son decided to climb a book case that ended up falling on him. Thank goodness he was okay but I went all out childproofing after that. It only takes a few seconds for something to happen.
Definitely bolt furniture to the wall or get earthquake straps. Anything can topple over really quickly causing serious injury or worse. Also, putting a little padlock through the hole on the plug of electronics means they can't plug anything in, if just in case an outlet cover falls out or they're able to get it out or something.
thanks for all the advice. When he was first in his walker he just followed us around. Now he has found my desk and can open and shut the drawers. He is noticing a lot more stuff.
