Pediatric protocols

My little baby boy was cleared for solids on Thursday. He just turned 4 months old. He has already doubled his birth weight and is now 16 lbs. It just seems like each time I have a baby protocols change. I remember with my first we were told not to start anything until he was 6 months old and now its okay at 4 months. Anyone else see pediatric protocol changes?

I work in the medical field so I am used to things changing from day to day, it just makes me wonder why 6 months was always the golden standard.

Honestly your pediatrician is not following the guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatric (AAP). The guidelines still state that solids foods should not be started until 6months of age.
