When can baby eat hummus

I think hummus is an awesome choice for babies. Chickpeas are so good for you!! The great thing is that you can mix whatever you like in with them or just leave them plain. I would recommend making your own, though. The pre-made packaged stuff has a lot of preservatives in it. Making your own is so simple. Just grab a can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) and grind em up! You can add things like carrots, squash, put it on crackers when your babys is at that stage. It's a wonderful alternative to dips and spreads that have a lot of salt, fat and preservatives.

Since it's a big more course than jarred baby food, I would probably wait until around 7 or 8 months to give this to Charlie. But AAP says most babies are ready for solids around 6 months, so if your baby meets all of the requirements and is ready to eat it, have fun and enjoy your hummus! :)
