Tantrums

How do you keep your baby from acting up in the restaurant?

How old is your baby? It depends. I've walked out or taken them out to the car if they are old enough to understand me shushing them, etc. It takes them understanding what is expected and knowing how you want them to behave when you are in a certain place, like a restaurant.

For young babies not knowing the difference, making sure they are fed, diaper changed and they had a nap before you go can help the outing go better.

I'm sorry, I guess I should have said toddler, I still refer to him as my "baby". When I say act up, I mean don't want to sit in the high chair for an extended period of time, whining, some screaming, but at home it's not an issue. I take him out of the high chair and then he wants to run around. After a while I give up and we have to leave; I don't want to draw more attention to what we're already getting.

It never crossed my mind to bring toys; I will def start doing that. Also I thought maybe it was due to the fact that we don't go out to eat much. The next time we go out, I will have to keep you all posted on the experience :-)

I def hope it gets better as they get older, I think they don't understand the environment I guess. Jakayden doesn't act like that during mealtimes at home so it just made me want to inquire and see where I'm going wrong.
