Does the "spying" bother you?

In light of recent developments (ie. Edward Snowden) spying has been in the headlines. Does the spying on you make you feel like your privacy has been invaded? It does me and I always think of the book by George Orwell, 1984.

I guess I don't view it as them keeping me safe but invading my privacy and I am a pretty private person. I like the Constitution of the U.S., even though I am Canadian and do not feel like they are abiding by it at all. I don't think their spying is for our safety but more of a cover up so they can have more control over us. Yes, I could be a conspiracy theorist whatever you call them or at least agree with some of what they tout.

Lol! :) I actually have wondered if our phone calls are being monitored but that was only because one of our older daughters had read something about "them" (the gov't) using cell phones as bugging devices. Imagine that? I know what I talk about on the phone isn't going to pull up any red flags to them because I don't think calling the vet to AI my cow or taking a turkey or egg order or calling my husband to get yet another thing at the grocery store is highly exciting. It's just the fact they think they have the right to listen in that bugs me.

I agree with 100% Leah... nowadays.. there are a lot of shady people.. and with technology moving and changing so fast... can you imagine how many things the gov. is STOPPING and saving us from that we don't even know about? I know it's more than we can ever imagine.. I have nothing to hide.. and I don't feel like they have any control over me so to say.. it's almost like taking extra pre-cautions at the airport for security.. I would rather wait longer and know everyone and everything is fine, then rush through and something happen.

It creeps me out thinking that there is someone watching my every move.

Well, I guess I like the illusion of it. :)
