Work Home Balance

How are you keeping that balance? In summer my work life really ramps up as more kids skate when they are out of school. I've been able to stay home with my daughter and only work part time these past 15 months. My job is still part time and I do get to still spend time with her, but it will be much more busy than what we are used to.

How are you keeping that balance?

I'm still trying to figure it out. I'm fortunate to work from home but it's tough because it feels like Charlie knows when clock in time is and decides to melt down right then. Ed is home for lunch so he can help sometimes but sometimes it's still not enough.

I do know this. When I get a minute to load the dishwasher or start some laundry or throw the ball for the dog, I take it. Even if it's just for a few minutes when Charlie is happy and playing with something. When he naps and I'm kinda sure he'll stay that way for a minute, I try to nap. That never works but I still try.

Hopefully you'll find a good balance. Being mama is seriously a tough job!
I really make a point of setting work hours and shutting down (no matter what!) when those hours are over. If something gets delayed by a day or two, it's not the end of the world. My children are my priority and I make a point of spending time with them :)
