Blood and protein in the urine during pregnancy
there are several important causes of proteinuria in pregnancy:
- infection in your kidneys
- urinary tract infection
- you have underlying kidney disease
- sign of preeclampsia in later pregnancy
You are more prone to these infections in pregnancy because the tubes that connect your kidneys to your bladder and your bladder to your urethra are relaxed under the influence of pregnancy hormones. This makes it much easier for organisms to gain access to your bladder and kidneys.
Blood in urine (hematuria)
-Urinary Tract Infection: Urinary tract infection or chronic bladder infection is one of the most common causes of the appearance of blood in urine.
-Kidney and Bladder Stones: Blood in the urine can also be a result of kidney stones which may cause severe pain and bleeding as the stone passes through the urinary tract.
-blood in urine is detected in pregnant women affected with medical conditions such as lupus, sickle cell anemia, or diabetes.
