Kids and the potty

So my daughter is 4 and has been potty trained for a while and she knows how to get the toilet paper before she sets down and how to wipe herself after she's done but in the last couple weeks SHE WONT. It's driving me crazy. I don't know why she's doing this or how to get her to do it herself again. ANY ADVICE?

Nothing's changed just one day she wont do it anymore. But I'm thinking it's because I still take her little sister to the bathroom and she knows that if she don't learn to go to the potty by herself she cant start school next year and she don't want to. But I feel she's definitely at an age she should be doing it by herself.

Strange... Hoping Meg or Elena are right. Maybe she feels like you're not giving her enough attention, and if she backslides you'll give her attention like lil sis is getting? Who knows what's going on in that mind of hers. But wet wipes and making her feel special and proud I hope takes care of the issues for you.

I think sometimes it's lazyness or "in a hurry" to get to the next thing so they skip it. Who knows though.

I think it's just her being lazy and wanting me to do it for her cause I still do for her little sister. Last night I told her to go potty before bed and she set in there and cried for like 10 minutes, she didn't want to do it herself. Most kids would have just got up without wiping, she's to girly for that and don't want to leave anything yucky on her. I'll try the wet wipe thing. We use wet wipes but have taught her to only use those for #2 and toilet paper for #1. Maybe if she can use them all the time it'll be easier for her.

I have the same problem with my 6 year old. She won't wipe, gets an infection, starts wiping again, and then stops. She has been doing this for a few years. I really wish I could get her consistent. I am tired of the infections.

Hey ladies Myla finally told me why she don't want to wipe herself anymore. She said when she wipes its cold. I think shes sticking her hand down to far and getting it in the toliet bowl water. yuck. So do yal just tell your girls to stand up and wipe?
