Where can I buy baby walking shoes?

I think it's best to buy that first pair of walking shoes in person at a brick-and-mortar store, so you can actually have the experience of putting the shoe on your baby and see how it will fit.

A variety of stores carry baby shoes:

Babies R Us
Some Toys R Us with Baby sections
Buy Buy Baby
Carter's
Target
Walmart
Old Navy
Kohl's
Payless
Macy's
Sears
Nordstrom

I bought Maddie's first pair at Babies R Us, and her second pair at Carter's. They were sizes 5 and 6, respectively.

Our experience was that we were gifted a bunch of shoes in various shapes and styles, but none of them fit very well until we were able to go to the store and try them out ourselves. My fear is that my daughter has inherited my strange feet--wide with a high instep. Therefore, lots of "cute" styles simply won't work. We settled on a firm-bottomed sneaker with velcro to secure the top while not being too tight to fit on her foot. Her current shoe is also a sneaker, but in a Mary-Jane style with velcro across the top of the foot. These are much easier on her than slip-on or lace-up options.

There's Pediped too but those are pricey. We usually stuck with Walmart, Target or Payless.

I haven't seen a Pediped locally. I remember a ton of kids shoe stores when I was young, but I don't feel like I see nearly as many anymore.

Yup, not really a worry until your baby is walking, and even then, I didn't worry about Maddie's shoes until she was walking outdoors. :)
