How to identify Braxton Hicks contractions during pregancy
Braxton Hicks contractions are a normal and healthy part of pregnancy. Some women will feel them and some wont. They can come and go during any point of pregnancy. During a Braxton Hicks contraction your uterus will get firm and feel like a hard ball. It should painless to uncomfortable feeling in your belly. It will make your uterus feel firm or hard. Braxton Hicks contractions will come at an irregular pattern, often go away when you change positions or drink water, and do not intensify.
If you have regular contractions during pregnancy before 37 weeks you should call your doctor. Regular contractions will get longer, stronger and closer together. Regular contractions will not stop with position changes.
