Nyquil and breastfeeding

Any moms take nyquil even though you breastfeed? For those of you that don't know what it is, it's a night time cough medicine. I need something to help me with this damn cough. Just would like some feedback. If it makes a difference, my son sleeps all night long so I wouldn't be nursing.

No, I never really took anything. You could check with your doctor if you aren't sure. I know some coughs can be really bad.

There is not any cough suppressant that I am aware of that is safe to take when nursing. Have you tried natural things too sooth your throat like lemon and honey in hot water before bed? Or essential oils that you can rub on your skin?

Sudafed can be taken when nursing but that wont help your cough. Sudafed and other decongestants can dry up your milk though so be careful .
