Do coloring sheets/books squash creativity?

I don't think it does. Maybe if a child is never given the opportunity to create their own drawings, it might - but as long as they are occasionally given a blank sheet I think the pages are fine. They still get to be creative about what colors everything is, and it can really help develop fine motor skills as they try to/learn to stay in the lines.
