How can I restart a stalled labor

Early Labor:
During early labor it is very common for labor to start and stop over a period of days or even weeks. Your body is slowly preparing itself for active labor. Allowing your body to go through early labor at it's own pace is best. Walking and activity can help stimulate contractions and keep your labor going.

Active Labor:
If you labor stalls during active labor your doctor will probably recommend pitocin to jump start your labor and to help make your contractions regular. Walking and activity can help as well.

Overall if you labor it stalled your doctor will be able to evaluate your situation and determine what is going on. In some cases a stalled labor will not restart and a c-section may be needed.

Early labor for me was infuriating. I would have labor-like contractions every single night for about 3 hours. This went on for almost 2 weeks and then I went in for my scheduled c-section. My doctor told me there really wasn't anything I could do to restart labor since I wasn't in actual full blown labor and my body was more just practicing for the main event.

Good info. My labors stopped and started for all my pregnancies for early labor. It was maddening. The babies came when they came.
